They were formidable warriors who developed strategies for using traditional weapons for fighting on horseback. Warfare was a major part of Comanche life. Comanche raids into Mexico traditionally took place during the full moon, when the Comanche could see to ride at night.

Comanche, North American Indian tribe of equestrian nomads whose 18th- and 19th-century territory comprised the southern Great Plains.

This is a wonderful piece that is created in a style that is unusual today. Very few of the artists make the Native American dolls this way. The action is wonderful and the carving, painting and details, especially his teeth, are fabulous.
